Programs:
-Concert Band
-Symphonic Band
-Jazz band
Truckee High School has a phenomenal Band program. It is directed by Mr. Dave Green, a well known name in music. The students learn music theory along with playing skills for their instruments. The band members also participate in Marching Band and can be seen at the varsity home games, even in rain or snow. The students also participate in Region V Honor band in Chico, California, Solo and Ensemble Festival, the local band festival, Sierra College Honor Band, and more. Annually, they take a trip known as band tour, shortened to just "tour". They take a charter bus and go to San Francisco and the surrounding bay area, and Napa, California, and play at convalescent homes, children's hospitals, elementary schools which lack music programs, and primarily Veterans homes. The people are always clearly touched by the music and it provides an amazing experience for the students.
